We have a paid opportunity for an apprentice storyteller to perform with Story Wagon in the street later this summer, on Saturday 26th September, 2026.
Fee is £400 inc. travel costs.
By ‘apprentice storyteller’, we mean anyone not listed as an official storyteller in the TRACs directory.
We believe we are all made of stories, and we hold ‘storyteller’ as a playful definition that can include many artforms.
We are offering:
- 2 x 1 hour training sessions – online
- 1 x day of performance in Rothesay, Isle of Bute, 10am-5pm.
Performance day will involve: helping us set up Story Wagon in the street (involves light lifting, marshalling of pedestrians and one two person lift), performing your 20 minute set 3 times to an audience you’ll help to gather, chatting to the general public and helping us run writing activities in between performances.
You need to:
- Have 20 minutes of stories appropriate to tell to the general public
- Be interested in working outdoors / in a street setting
- Be available on 26th September 10am-5pm in Rothesay, Isle of Bute.
- Be able to join 2 x online training sessions via zoom or google meet.
- Be based in Scotland & not listed as a storyteller in TRACs directory.
